Tragedy Either Way

The world seems tragic. Scientific determinism seems comforting until it concludes in the confinement of the will. Human autonomy seems freeing until one man’s autonomy clashes with the autonomy of another. Tragedy either way. Favoring one rejects the obvious truths in the other. Abandoning both results in a tragic nihilism, but attempting to reconcile the two leaves behind nothing but a senseless existentialism.
